Columbia celebrates Day of the Dead

Spanish teacher, Angelica Anshel compares her experiences of Halloween from her hometown in Columbia to America.

“When I was a little girl I used to dress up, every single year, but as the years passed by, the tradition of Halloween is changing completely. Right now at this point no one is really going trick-or-treating because they say… that Halloween is a holiday for witchcraft,” said Anshel.

Instead, the people of Colombia celebrate The Day of the Dead on November 1. They believe that this is more respectful. The Day of the Dead honors and celebrates the lives of deceased children.
