Mario Kart Wee!

Mario Kart Tour, I know you’ve heard of it, I know you want to play it, I know it’s the best thing since Fortnite came out on IOS. Mario Kart Tour is the newest, hottest app on the app store. Released on Sept. 25 it has already reached number one in gaming on the app store, having a 4.8 out of five stars with over 313 thousand ratings. With the app free to play, all you need to do is either connect or make a Nintendo account and get going.

Mario Kart Tour is the ninth installment in the Mario Kart series following Mario Kart eight on the Nintendo switch. Continuing with the traditional racing gameplay of the other games, racing around the world as your favorite characters, and some new ones feels the same. Mario Kart Tour has three new characters, Peachette, Musician Mario, and making her Mario Kart debut, Pauline. Each of these characters can be unlocked by earning rubies, these can be used to buy the characters directly or in a spin-to-win dynamic, giving you a chance to unlock them.

The biggest change to the game is the ability to control your cart by touch. There are a few similar aspects to previous games, such as drifting to get a small boost, or driving through rainbow blocks to get throwable items. The tracks you race around are also similar to previous games at tracks like, Cheep Cheep Lagoon, or Mario Circuit.

Overall, I, like many others, find myself racing ever moment I can. Bringing myself that sense of nostalgia I had as a child racing as Yoshi on my Wii. Go download yourself Mario Kart Tour and try it yourself, you can race against your friends or try to complete each cup.
