Game of Thrones will not return until 2019

Brady McGee, Reporter

On August 27 2017, I watched the last meaningful television episode until 2019. Season seven of “Game of Thrones” proved to be one of the best seasons yet. Even on a shortened seven episode stretch compared to the usual 10, “Thrones” managed to advance one of the greatest television stories ever told into another stratosphere. I won’t drop any spoilers for those yet to indulge themselves in its glory but just know you have plenty of time to catch up.

I’ve had a little over four months to digest and form my opinions on season seven and also in that time I looked for some new shows to bide my time. The only problem is, I haven’t been able to find any.

“Stranger Things 2” was a no-brainer to watch and comedy programs like “Archer” and “That 70’s Show” on Netflix held me over for a bit but I still felt a deep crater in my television watching. I see GOT in everything I see, and if not I get angry at that show for not being more like GOT.

The character development, the action sequences, and the world building make in one of the most complete shows ever.

With HBO officially announcing the return won’t be until 2019, I can’t help but feel like television watching in 2018 will be extremely lackluster. Not seeing Jon Snow’s face for another year might be too much for me to handle.
