The Acts of Kindness Club, ran by English teacher, Mrs. Stachura, along with math and computer science teacher, Mrs. Middleton, recently collected multiple items to be placed in stockings that will be sent to House of Ruth over the holidays.

House of Ruth is a safe shelter for women and children to stay who have been domestically abused. The club collected items for a mother, two, 12 and 13 year old females, and an eight year old male. Included in their stockings were hygiene products, school supplies, games and toys, and apparel.

“Since I’ve never participated in a club before I thought this one would be best because spreading kindness is something I want to do more and it will broaden my horizons” Said Cassy Wilson (’19)

The Club pairs with other Clubs such as Kids Helping Hopkins, One Love, and SADD club to participate in fundraisers such as food drives and writing letters to soldiers in the military.
“They aren’t officers necessarily [because we want] to keep everyone involved in the group” said Sam Schaefer (’18)

The club gets together every Friday in order to brainstorm possible future events and keep the club members active.
