Acts of Kindness Club makes blankets for House of Ruth

The Acts of Kindness Club, run by Trish Middleton and Michelle Stachura, meets bi-weekly and discusses and coordinates activities that the group can do to better the Hereford community.
The club recently made blankets over the course of a couple meetings, using large pieces of fuzzy fabric.
“Making the blankets were fun and easy to do,” Spencer Hennessey (’18) said. “I’m glad I joined the club because it’s a great way to get involved in the community and it offers service hours.”

The blankets are being brought to the House of Ruth by members of the club after school on Friday.
The House of Ruth is one of the nation’s leading centers that helps thousands of women who are victims of domestic relationship violence.

Intimate violence “can take many forms, including physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional, economic, and psychological abuse,” according to the House of Ruth website.

These clubs have been charitable throughout the year and have contributed to the bettering of our community as a whole, and I am glad to participate in them.
