Thanksgiving Look

Thanksgiving has traditionally been a celebration of the blessings of the agricultural year where the harvest of the previous year is honored. Today, the holiday has evolved into a day surrounded by family, food, football, and fashion.

In light of the fact that adults are present, your look should be more conservative and subdued, without looking boring. I for one, am not a fan of hearing my grandparents say, “You look like a raccoon, and you do not need that much makeup.”
Luckily, judgmental remarks from family members are easily avoidable.

If your Thanksgiving celebration is more casual, I suggest simple makeup and leggings or dark jeans with a light sweater, big earrings, and leather boots. This look worn by Ali Jones (’16) is more reserved with light pink lip gloss and neutral eye shadows that bring brightness and attention to her eyes.

On the other hand, if you are attending a more formal get together, layering dresses and sweaters could be ideal. Depending on the fanciness of the event, leather boots with high boot socks or heels could work. If you opt for thin, layered necklaces which are understated and perfect for the fall season, keep the earrings small and pretty. For this look, I added darker colors to the creases of her eyelids, applied a deeper red lipstick, and added darker contouring to her cheekbones.
