Former member of the British-Irish boy band, The Wanted, Nathan Sykes is releasing his first solo album later this year.

In 2013 he made a song with Ariana Grande called “Almost Is Never Enough” and since then has released his single “Kiss Me Quick” which is becoming popular. He has definitely left his boy band days behind adding a smoother and more soulful sound to his songs.

He definitely sounds like a younger Sam Smith,” said Sofia Callahan (’17), “I’m not even focusing on the words, I’m just paying attention to his voice; it’s so good.”

This 22-year-old looks like he would sound like Justin Bieber in 2010, but he actually has a deeper, jazzier voice. With his style and slick moves he is sure to make it big in the music world.

“He was hittin’ those notes real good. He almost reminds me of Justin Timberlake, like the way he moves,” Jena Borowick (’17) said.

His new music video for his most recent song, “Over & Over Again” was released Oct. 28 and already has over 30,000 views.

I hope to hear one of his songs on the radio soon because he has the talent and experience to become a popular artist.
