Last Tuesday, the Future Business Leaders of America hosted a conference at our school. Led by Mr. David Schriener, a business teacher, they participated in a variety of workshops designed to work on their leadership skills. There were around 400 students from 26 different high schools across Baltimore County. The students viewed presentations created by businesses in the area, and competed against other high schools. 35 judges assessed multiple competitions, in which Hereford “did pretty well,” according to Mr. Schriener. They won first in some events, and were in the top 7 for others, which qualified them for state championships. Overall, said Mr. Schreiner, “it was a very successful evening, and I’m glad, because we were preparing for that day for three months.”
