“Flashback to 50’s Dance” not “a flop”

Emma Wallner and Brooke Wilson

On March 18th, 2017, the sophomore and freshmen classes hosted the “Flashback to the 50s” dance. Unsubstantiated speculation may have led some to believe that this dance would be, for lack of a better term, a “flop.”

However, as the Class of 2019 and 2020s presidents (along with the opinions of other attendees to lessen our bias), we would attest that this dance was anything but a flop. We raised money for both classes that will help to alleviate costs during our respective senior years.

In a recent Harbinger online article, the core complaints about the dance consisted of the lack of colored flyers and a “stress-inducing theme.” Neither of these claims had much support.  We would hope that in future articles published the information conveyed is researched and interviewees are selected from a wider audience.

Class meetings are held monthly and all members of the respective sophomore and freshmen classes are welcome to attend. Pitch your ideas! Share your concerns. We welcome feedback that helps us to make our time at Hereford memorable. Overwhelming comments from dance attendees can attest that the dance was successful, and we hope it becomes an acclaimed Hereford tradition.
