Students should be jumping with joy through sunny days instead of suffering through rain-soaked weeks.

In the past couple weeks it seems to have rained for 90% of the time. Quite frankly I am tired of this terrible weather. In March it was almost 80 degrees, I have concluded that Maryland is a tease when it spring comes around each year.

Whatever happened to April showers bring May showers? Now that it is just false.  It is May 20 here in Baltimore, MD and there have been few days of sunshine.  It doesn’t even feel right or real that next weekend Ocean City will be packed for Memorial Day.

How can that be, beach season around the corner?

Hannah Weeren (’18)  remembers last year during track season at this time she had spandex and sock tans from all the sun each day at practice.

Julia Watt (’19) agreed that she didn’t think outdoor track would be calling for Under Armour and multiple layers for each meet. Watt was envisioning spandex and tank tops every day, not rain coats and sweatpants.

It would be an understatement to say I am disappointed with the amount of sunshine, or lack of it, we have had this spring.

“There has been so much rain this spring and it has been terrible for all of the spring sports,” said varsity lacrosse player Kylie Nause (’18).

I am counting my blessings for these two days of warm weather we have experienced but the real question is: How long it will last?
